O Brown

Brown University was founded in 1764 and sits on College Hill above downtown Providence, Rhode Island. It is best known for its Open Curriculum, which has no distribution or core requirements and lets students design their own academic path while taking any course pass/fail. Brown became need-blind for first-year international applicants starting with the Class of 2029, and remains the only Ivy to combine that admissions philosophy with the curricular freedom that defines its undergraduate experience.
